Skye is currently a sophomore at Barnard College of Columbia University, majoring in Philosophy and double majoring in Economics. Skye was born and raised in Shenzhen, China, but she has lived in Hangzhou and Ethiopia and is now studying in New York. Throughout her experience, Skye gradually cultivates a global perspective and a passion for making connections with worldwide professionals to make an impact.
Skye joined GCC in her first year as the associate of the network. During her term, Skye built connections with GCC local chapters around the world with check-in calls and meetings, helped file and maintain the database of chapters’ information and latest updates (e-board election, members’ participation, activities and events, etc.), pitched the GCC Global Summit to chapters and invited them to promote the summit over their social media accounts.
Besides GCC, Skye has also been active in professional paths and the field of social justice. She interned in a Chinese Red Circle law firm and the law department of a listed company, was a research assistant of law for a Ph.D. candidate at Princeton, and is currently seeking more opportunities in corporate law. She was also a member of Effective Altruism Columbia, led the project “Mask Up Shenzhen” to provide PPEs for workers, and led a Chinese national gender equality program. In her leisure time, Skye enjoys writing consistently.
